The Starburst Dish
These beautiful Steel Dishes are individually hand forged using fire and hammer. Hundreds of hammer blows leave their permanent mark, creating the heavily textured surface which renders each piece totally unique. We call this pattern ‘Starburst’ due to the exploding pattern formed by the hammer blows in the surface of the metal.
Once forged, and still hot, the metal is treated with raw beeswax to form a deep, charcoal grey patina. We then carefully hand sand the upper surface of the dish to accentuate the hammer blows – this gives the piece a modern, contemporary look. Finally, several coats of wax are applied to protect the metal. The beauty of the metal shines through.
The Coach House Forge touch mark is stamped on the underside of each Dish – the sign of quality.
We can stamp a date or initials onto the underside of the Dish for you – 10 characters maximum
