The Fold Dish
The 1th Anniversary small fold dish has a diameter measuring 150 mm (6″) and the dish stands 15 mm (0.6″) high. They are forged from 3 mm (1/8th”) Steel stock ~ 1 lbs (450 g) in weight.
The red hot Steel is folded over and carefully hammered down the seam before being ‘unfolded’ back, revealing the raised fold effect…
The dish shape is then formed using a raw-hide mallet so there are no hammer marks on the metal – this ensures the smooth contemporary finish. The base is flattened a little to stabilise the dish.
We finish the dish with Beeswax to create a protective and attractive ‘gun-metal’ appearance.
Each small fold dish is ‘signed’ on the base using the Coach House Forge makers mark.
