Description
The Celestial Collection Flare No. 3
No. 3 of 7 bowls
A single Flare Bowl. The third release in the Celestial Collection, designed and created by Adrian Smith; Blacksmith at Coach House Forge.
Inspired by the nature and movement of particles; where the centre of the bowl is black and this energy is dispersed to the outer edge, one can view the movement toward or away from the centre. Adrian took the sheet metal, heating it multiple times to a very high heat, and then used hide hammer and peen hammers to create different textures, finishes, and tones within the same piece. The results are a tactile bowl with a deep, darkened and smooth centre with a contrasting dotted rim that flares out confidently surrounding the bowl.
This listing is for 1 of 7 pieces in this release, which can be used as an objet d’art or a functional statement piece, in which you can display items, or use as a bowl for keeping your everyday treasures safe.
Notable points about No 3 bowl
- 9” Decagon The first of three bowls just under 24 cm (just over 9 inches) diameter at their widest points, with the smallest flared rim in this Celestial Collection release, this piece is totally singled-out. And being the third smallest doesn’t detract from its ample size with a bowl of 7.5 inches (190 mm). The centre is an even depth of dark metal and meets the smooth curve where the flared edge and it meet changes the energy of the piece with deeper burnt dots interspersed with flashes of polished silver metal concentrated energy spots carved into the ten sides. This piece has a multi-toned sound when interacted with; creating B & C notes.
