Description
The Celestial Collection Flare No. 1
No. 1 of 7 bowls
A single Flare Bowl. The second release in the Celestial Collection, designed and created by Adrian Smith; Blacksmith at Coach House Forge.
Inspired by the nature and movement of particles; where the centre of the bowl is black and this energy is dispersed to the outer edge, one can view the movement toward or away from the centre. Adrian took the sheet metal, heating it multiple times to a very high heat, and then used hide hammer and peen hammers to create different textures, finishes, and tones within the same piece. The results are a tactile bowl with a deep, darkened and smooth centre with a contrasting dotted rim that flares out confidently surrounding the bowl.
This listing is for 1 of 7 pieces in this release, which can be used as an objet d’art or a functional statement piece, in which you can display items, or use as a bowl for keeping your everyday treasures safe.
Notable points about No 1 bowl
- 8” Decagon (#1): This piece is a couple of millimetres shorter than its counterpart in this Celestial collection release, and has a slightly lower dominant tone when tapping the metal to life. The centre bowl is smooth with energetic ghosts of heat bursts from the forging process, these fingerprints carry the eye mesmerically around the piece while the flared rim awakens the senses with irregular, circular, and tactile patternation against the angular octagonal edge.
