You may have recently heard or seen advertised the opportunity to have a ‘Sound Bath’. Contrary to the name, no water is involved!

A sound bath is an holistic, immersive experience undertaken to promote relaxation, reduce stress and improve our overall well-being. It has long been recognised that stress can have a detrimental effect on our bodies and minds.

During a sound bath session, participants lie or sit comfortably and are enveloped in a cocoon of gentle, soothing sound vibrations. Music, singing and sounds of nature such as rainfall can be included.  These are created by a variety of instruments.

By immersing yourself in these soothing sounds, hopefully, you will move towards a meditative state and it is in this state of deep relaxation that we may reap the benefits of lowered heart rate, lowered blood pressure and reduced muscle tension.
